When we first opened our doors in the summer of 2022, we noticed a steady stream of people who seemed to be laser-focused on our well-fortified Duran Duran section. This, of course, was awesome to us, so we started asking questions.

Turns out, word about The Record Pub was spreading amongst the local fan group of the band, and one-by-one every Duran Duran LP, 7” and tape was gobbled up, and finding more became an early priority of our staff.

Fast forward some three years later, and the Duranies – the affectionate name given to the group – are such an important part of what TRP is all about and have become great friends of ours. The group regularly gathers for sorta-official and casual meet-ups at The Record Pub, dancing and singing through the aisles of records during listening events or just a regular weekend.

Whether they know it or not, the Duranies – like many of our customers who have fostered such a wonderful community – are stars of The Record Pub and epitomize the fun that can be had there. TRP is a place where you can gather with close friends, enjoy your brand of music, and likely develop friendships with people you didn’t even know before, all while digging through records and enjoying a drink of your choosing.

For every Record Store Day event, we work closely with our talented poster designer, Andy Gomez, to capture the essence of some of the stars of The Record Pub who make it a special place.

So, Duranies, it’s your deserved turn … you’ve been posterized!
